• Brief

All of my designs derive from a well considered brief which is a result of shared thoughts and ideas between you the client and me as a designer. The brief will then be broken down into a short written analysis, specification and design statement which will form the basis of any future design proposal.

  • Survey

On a case by case basis with smaller less complicated spaces a survey is something that I am happy to do. For larger sites I recommend an externally sourced topographical survey.

  • Proposal

I will supply you with a concept plan – this is the proposed design layout for the garden. Alongside a concept and draft plant combination board for you to visualise materials, landscaping, shape and form. Please be ensured that this phase is a process of discussion between you and myself. With your involvement at every stage should you wish to do so. Once this has been signed off by you if you choose to go ahead with the design proposal – this will serve as the foundation of all detailed work going forward.

  • Detail Proposal

To progress the garden design proposal, I prepare a Detail Package for both hard and soft landscaping in order to provide relevant construction detail and planting plan information, to thus enable budget costing, sourcing and procurement.

  • Site Monitoring

During the construction of the garden – to ensure what has been agreed by client and drawn by me, I will schedule regular site meetings to monitor the build and advise contractors accordingly.

  • After Care

This is as important to me as it is to you as a client - that the garden develops as intended. As a service I prefer to include a couple of after care visits over the following 18 months post garden ‘completion’. This allows us to together see the progress of the garden while reviewing all aspects of hard landscaping and planting and to address any matters arising.
